The Photo Shoot That Didn't Happen and A List of My Favourite Films
Oh you guys, the photo shoot. It was like 38 degrees, my hair and make up were done and then about 10 minutes before the photographer showed up, the Kid had a freak out. Now, the plus side of this freak out was that for once he didn't attack us. That was new. There was screaming and yelling but he just wanted to be held. So I am going to call that a win. It seems that the prescription we started on Tuesday is finally kicking in. This also means the Kid is not too happy about this new development. Knock on wood we get through this weekend and don't have to deal with anymore fallout. When the freak out started, I wrote the photographer who is also a friend and apologized that we would have to postpone the shoot. Of course she was totally understanding but I felt so terrible. So next Friday, we are doing our family photo shoot unless the Kid decides to pull another diva stunt. Actually, even if he pulls a diva stunt, we are still doing it, Britney.
In other news, last night I went out with a couple of friends to decompress. Luckily I was an adult and did not go buckwild. I am a big girl now! This morning the Kid woke up at 5 so hopefully by 8 tonight he will be out like a light. On Monday I am meeting a friend for dinner at Am Heuer and then afterwards going to Down Under. On Thursday I am meeting friends for dinner at Francesco in Grinzing. When I posted last week that I was going, a couple of friends said they wanted to go too and so now this might end up being my local restaurant that happens to be on the other side of town. Oh well, Vienna is at least small. Since I don't have too much to write about and I am still brain dead from the heat, I decided to make another list. I like to re-read books and I also like to re-watch films. They provide a sense of comfort for me because I know how they are going to end. I can also zone out during parts I don't like. Or pin stuff to Pinterest. So here is a list I thought up of films that I love and that I can watch over and over again. Here we go!
Bram Stoker's Dracula (Dracula was sooo hawt... and he gives her diamonds)
Addams Family 1 and 2 (Relationship goals. Dat house)
Moonstruck (He takes her to the opera, the love scene)
The Royal Tenenbaums (Eerily similar to my upbringing)
Die Hard (Fab Christmas film)
Under the Tuscan Sun (One day I too shall renovate a Tuscan villa and look like Diane Lane)
Woman on Top (Fabulous sountrack, and I love to cook)

Love Actually (I cry and I cry and I cry... and laugh)
Indiana Jones 1 and 3 (Just so fun)
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation (Was in Vienna, I am biased. And the female character was fab. And in her 30s!)
Jurassic Park (I wanted to dig for dinosaurs after seeing this. Then I found out you have to study hard)
Ghotstbuster (the new one) (I have nothing but love for the first 2, but this new one really kicked a lot of tuckus)
Almost Famous (Oh I loved it)
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (One day I shall visit Savannah)
Gone Girl (this was so fabulous and terrifying)
Goodfellas (Heeeeeyyyy)
Casino (Sharon Stone's outfits were fab)
Back to the Future (I had such a crush on Michael J. Fox)
George of the Jungle (I find it laugh out loud funny.)
Adventures in Babysitting (THOR!)
Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (this is when I learned about petty cash)
Empire Records (Shock me shock me shock me with that deviant behaviour)
Sense and Sensibility (Austen forever!)
Beetlejuice (Oh how I wanted to be Lidia Deetz)
Oh man, there are so many, and I know I am missing so many great ones (like I said before, brain dead). If you have any to add, let me know! And I think the next few months are going to be busy re-watching all of these... Trying to figure out which one to start with.... Anyway, hope you all have a fab Saturday and wish us luck with the Kid! Like a walking bio-hazard. Toodles!
