Weekend, Weekend

Wow. It felt like a long week. I thought the Wednesday off would make the week seem shorter but I was wrong, so very wrong. I also should have used Wednesday to hibernate and not act like a Kardashian. Lesson learned. My next day off is at the end of October. I have taken two days of for the Halloween party and one of those days looks like it will be spent at an Autism symposium. Speaking of the Halloween party, I might start decorating on Sunday. The Husband will not be amused but I already have my speech ready. It starts off with:

"But this is the perfect time to start decorating!!" I will whine. He will no doubt counter that it isn't October yet. To which I will respond with "But the party is earlier this year!" and he will say "Still, that is too long to live like the Addams Family!" with which I will counter with "WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE ADDAMS FAMILY?! THEY ARE LIKE THE AWESOMEST FAMILY EVER AND I EVEN WROTE A BLOG PIECE ABOUT THEM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO TALKING ABOUT HOW AWESOME THEY ARE!" and then he will sigh and get a beer from the fridge and I will say "WHY ARE YOU MAD?!?! YOU KNEW THIS ABOUT ME WHEN YOU MARRIED ME! HALLOWEEN IS EVERYTHING!" and he will go and watch TV "YOU CAN'T BE MAD AT ME! YOU KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THIS PARTY AND TIME OF YEAR IS TO ME!!" to which he will turn up the volume on the TV and then I will get distracted "Ooh! Look! There's the vampire bat I was looking for!"

This weekend promises to be a busy one - actually, it already started yesterday. Yesterday after work, I ran to a meeting for The House of Canada. The products arrived and I had just a couple of hours until I had to be home. We opened the boxes with much trepidation and YAY! awesome stuff. It was definitely thrilling to see everything "live" and I truly think we made some awesome decisions regarding the products! My personal favourites: the toques, the onesies and the sweaters... oh, ok, and the thermos too... and the candles. Oh ok, I LOVE ALL THE STUFF! Check out The House of Canada website in a couple of days to see all the new products. So exciting to be able to be part of this project and I so hope we can go on a buying trip next year!!!

After the meeting, and a little wine at an awesome Italian place, I ran home to have dinner with the Kid and the Husband. It has been a busy week and I needed another night at home. Also, it seems like we are over the hump with the Kid's fits and I am so incredibly grateful. He is back to his adorable and snuggly self and I feel like I can breathe a little bit better. Ugh. What a heartbreaking week.

Today I have to cancel my ballet class visit because at 1 I have a Vienna Würstelstand meeting (and I want to spend the morning with the Kid). I need to get back to writing so I am excited to meet up with everybody again. I will then run home and shower and then head to the Dry Bar for hair and make up. Then I will go to a friend's place for dinner (I totally invited myself over) and then catch a taxi to head to a huge bday party that has been planned for a long, long time. I will only know a couple of people at the party so no doubt I will make a complete fool out of myself by engaging in conversation with complete strangers. I will probably start off with an inappropriate joke. Then move onto some self-deprecation. Throw in another dumb inappropriate joke. And finally, I will be loud and my laugh will turn into a Woody Woodpecker being shot by a machine gun guffaw. My laugh is the worst and I appreciate all of youse who tell me you like it. You are too kind... you dirty liars.

I am not sure what time I will be escorted off the premises, but I have given myself Sunday morning to do nada. Well, maybe I will do a little bit. In the afternoon I am meeting a friend at Karlsplatz because we have to pick up our running shirts for the Night Run. Only in Vienna do you head to a palace to register for a fun run. Never change, Vienna, never change. Then, once home, will probably pick up some Halloween decorations that friends around the corner have so graciously stored in their basement for us. And so that my friends, is the weekend. Stay tuned for embarrassing party moments, wardrobe malfunctions, marital fights and adorable stories about the Kid. Happy Weekend!
